四国別格二十霊場の第十番札所。本尊は、千手観世音菩薩。開基は空鉢（くはち）上人と伝えられ、桓武天皇や源頼朝の敬愛を受けた。西条の市街地から延々と山道を登ってようやく辿り着いた。深山幽谷にあり、紅葉の名所。境内から新居浜方面がよく見えた。
That is the 10th temple of Shikoku exceptional Sacred Sites. The honzon (principal image of Buddha) is Senju Kanzeon Bosatsu. It is said that this temple was founded by Kuhatsu Shonin, and adored by Emperor Kanmu and Minamoto no Yoritomo. I finally arrived after climbing the mountain path from the downtown of Saijo. Located in deep mountains and valleys, it is a famous spot for autumn leaves. The Niihama area could be clearly seen from the precincts.
