早咲き桜の河津桜は、発祥の静岡県伊豆の河津町が花見の名所として有名だが、神奈川県茅ケ崎市の小出川沿いにも70本の河津桜があり、満開を迎えている。花はソメイヨシノより桃色が濃い。コロナウイルス対策で例年開催される桜祭りは中止になったが、多くの花見客が訪れていた。今日は令和に入って最初の天皇誕生日でもある。
