四国別格霊場第二番札所。本尊は、薬師如来。飛鳥時代の古刹。弘法大師が16歳の時にこの寺で学問に励み、名前の由来になったという。
That is the 2th temple of Shikoku exceptional Sacred Sites. The Lord is the Yakushi nyolai. A old temple in Asuka period. At the age of sixteen, Kobo Daishi studied at this temple and learned that it was the origin of the temple’s name.
