石手寺,Ishiteji,石手寺

四国八十八カ所霊場の第五十一番札所。聖武天皇の命により行基が建立した。本尊は、行基が刻んだとされる薬師如来像。お遍路のルーツと言われる衛門三郎ゆかりの寺で境内は大きく参拝者が多い。本堂奥から山の裏側や大師堂の後ろへ繋がる洞窟はとても霊的な場所で密教の世界を表現しているという。道後温泉も近い。蓄積した疲れを癒したい。
